Love this Vet! Dr. Connelly is an amazing veterinarian and knows how to handle my crazy girl (female boxer). She had a hematoma on her ear and they took such good care of her! They were gentle with her and made her feel comfortable. My boxer is usually very protective over me and doesn’t let many people near me when she is around. The moment the vet walked in my boxer was calm and trusted the staff completely. I highly recommend this vet!
I have used them for more than 20 years. They have great veterinarians. I was working mostly with Dr. Claudia Banks who is a compassionate and caring person. But lately it has been impossible to get appointments in any sort of timely manner. I asked this year for a regular yearly exam which was 2 months out. When the time of the appointment was getting close they cancelled it and and given one again 2 months out. During this time my cat's vaccines were expiring. Even an outstanding appointment they were sending pesky mails almost every second week to remind me that it was time to re-vaccinate my cats. Also last spring I was trying to get a prescription of Revolution Plus. They first refused claiming that they could not prescribe it without seeing my cats, even though my cats had been all the time on it. Then when I convinced them of that and scheduled a appointment they sent me in the mail a prescription for the wrong Revolution. After all of this I went to another vet in Acton where I could get an appointment within a week, dealt with another kind and caring vet, and had the Revolution Plus I needed in stock. This Acton veterinary looks much more how the LBVH was 10 years ago, more like a vet owned business where you have a more personal relationship. I don't see any point to return to Lexington-Bedford Veterinary Hospital.
I have been coming here for many years with my pets, all 8 of them and today was the last time. I brought in my anxious senior leonberger today and the vet tech mentioned maybe doing the exam in the back room. I told her I wanted it to be done in front of me. She said she would take the dog back for bloodwork. When she came back, she and the vet had already done the exam despite my asking that they not. On principle alone, I will never, ever take my pets there again and nor should you if you expect honesty.
We can't say enough good things about Dr. Connolly; a rare combination of compassion, expertise, and professional ethics. She has been treating our dog for thyroid issues and our cat for kidneys, managing to pull them out of some deep trouble. Three negatives, however: One, don't be five minutes late for an appointment; schedules at the hospital are very tight; two, ask Dr. Connolly to speak more slowly if you can't understand everything she's saying, and negative number three, too bad our human doctors can't be more like her!
Awesome. Got us in right away when no one else would see our bird. Friendly people
I've been coming here for almost 20 years, with two different cats (RIP Gracie!) and they've always been professional and considerate of the animals. They've taken great care of Drogo so far...no complaints.
Lexington-Bedford Vets are competent and will take fine care of your pet. Unfortunately, they seem more focused on the profitability of this business than balance compassionate care and economics. The great examples of $3000 diagnostic bill, denied by pet insurance for a minor digestive issue. Sure feels like sometimes this practice is focused on ‘playing’ on a customers love for their pet vs helping them make a compassionate responsible decision.
